Oral sessions

There will be two plenary sessions on Tuesday 28 October 2014: Plenary Session 1 "Policy and societal challenges with emphasis on Blue Growth: the contribution of Operational Oceanography" and Plenary Session 2 "Advancing Operational Oceanography to meet present and emerging User needs". Albert Fischer of IOC GOOS, Michael Rohn of DG ENTR, Nicholas Hoepffner of JRC, Samuel Djavidnia of EMSA, Nadia Pinardi of JCOMM, Mika Mered of POLARISK Group, Martin Visbeck of GEOMAR, Pierre Bahurel of Mercator Ocean and Einar Svendsen of IMR are among the confirmed honoured speakers.

There will be 5 splinter sessions on Wednesday 29 October, namely: Users and new services, In-situ observations, Modelling/Forecasting services, Remote Sensing, and Modelling the biochemical ocean. The sessions will start at 9 am. There will also be 2 parallel sessions on Thursday 30 October: Copernicus Marine Service: MFCs and Biochemical modelling and users, starting at 9 am.

Panel discussions have been foreseen for Tuesday 28 October 2014 and Thursday 30 October 2014.
